The exclusive biography of Shivaji Maharaj
Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on 19 February 1930 and was died on 3 April 1680. Her father was Sahaji bhonsle and mother was jijabai. Shivaji defeated a large force of Shaista Khan (Aurangzeb's maternal uncle) and the Bijapur army in Pune,1659. In 1664, the wealthy Mughal trading port of Surat was sacked by Shivaji. In June 1665, the Treaty of Purandar was signed between Shivaji and Raja Jai Singh I (representing Aurangzeb). Raigarh , Purandhar , Torna all these forts were captured by Shivaji. Raigarh fort was seized by Shivaji and then he renovated and built the fort and it became the capital of Shivaji Maharaj's Empire . At the age of 19 yeas he captured the Torna fort and than Purandhar. The kingdom of shivaji was divided into four provinces. Each province was divided into several villages and districts. The chief of the village was called patel or deshpande. The head used to run the affairs of the village along with village panchayat. Shivaji occupied the forts of Chakan, Kondana and Purandhar. He built the fort of Raigarh five miles east of Torna. These are some achievements of shivaji-he occupied the Maratha principality of Javali and captured Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Mahuli. He killed Afzal Khan with his Baghnakha of gloves with claws.
